Truckers take fifth at Bradford Invitational

January 3 was wet and miserable in Kenosha, but indoors, seven Clintonville varsity wrestlers battled to a fifth place finish at the Bradford Invitational, with two going undefeated on the day and winning top honors on the podium in their weight brackets.

Ben Cotherman went 1-3 at 106, often giving up twelve or more pounds to his opponents.

At 120 pounds, Cole Cotherman took third, winning two of four matches on the day.

Tim Jerabek recorded four pins to finish 4-0 at 138.

Freshman Jason Bilek recorded his first varsity pin, and finished the day 2-2 at 170 pounds.

With three wins and no losses, Chase Jung took his bracket at 195 pounds.

Bridget Streicher (126 pounds) and Trenton Niemczyk (182 pounds) both showed tenacity on the mat, and on the JV side, Lacey Jung wrestled exhibition matches.

Trucker wrestlers take to the mats again at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, in Waupaca for a dual meet, and then again at D.C. Everest High School in Wausau on Saturday, Jan. 10.
