Waupaca recycling center accepts discarded Christmas trees

Area residents may drop their Christmas trees off at the Waupaca Regional Recyling & Compost Center.

The center serves the city of Waupaca and the towns of Dayton, Farmington, Lind and Waupaca.

Christmas trees may be dropped off at no charge during the center’s hours.

Located at 608 Lakeside Parkway, the center is open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

John Edlebeck, Waupaca’s director of public works, said all woody brush is wood chipped in the spring and is then available for sale to residents at $5 per pickup load.

The wood chips are also used on the River Ridge Trail.
