Wolves drops two games

Manawa’s boys’ basketball team dropped recent games to Stevens Point Pacelli and Kewaunee.

Pacelli handed the Wolves a 70-52 loss Jan. 9 and Manawa also fell to Kewaunee 75-51 Jan. 6.

MANAWA – Manawa had no answer for James Gollon, who broke his own single-game scoring record with a game-high 49 points.

Gollon had all six of the Cardinals’ three-pointers in the game.

Pacelli led 20-14 after one quarter, 40-26 at halftime and 63-36 after three quarters before the Wolves outscored the visitors 16-7 over the final eight minutes.

Kewaunee 75, Manawa 51

Kewaunee’s Zach Baumgartner had a triple-double with 27 points, 12 blocked shots and 10 rebounds to lead the Storm to the nonconference win.

Kewaunee led 18-11 after one quarter, 40-20 at halftime and 58-38 after three quarters.

The Wolves also fell to Iola-Scandinavia 57-34 Jan. 12 in a Central Wisconsin 8 Conference matchup and will travel to Shiocton Friday, Jan. 16, for a 7:30 p.m. CWC-8 game with the Chiefs.
