Bulldogs crushed by Spartans, Phantoms

It was a tough week for the Bulldog boys’ varsity basketball team as they suffered crushing defeats to the Luxemburg-Casco Spartans and West De Pere Phantoms.

Luxemburg-Casco 75, New London 39

The Spartans opened up a 15-1 lead after one quarter and held a 28-9 advantage at halftime.

Luxemburg-Casco outscored New London 25-15 in the third quarter and 22-15 in the fourth quarter to earn a 36-point win.

Scott Bierman scored eight points to lead the Bulldogs while Sam Porath added seven. Scott Doucette and Ty Barrington both scored six, Nick Thomas added five, Cole Buelow and Carter Thomson both contributed three, and Alex Thiemer tallied one point.

West De Pere 67, New London 24

The Phantoms dominated the game from the opening tip in a 67-24 win over the Bulldogs on Thursday, Jan. 15.

West De Pere led 17-5 after one quarter and 33-14 at halftime. They added 34 points in the second half to keep the game well out of reach.

Hunter Zaddack scored eight points to lead New London, while Porath netted six and Thomas scored five. Thiemer contributed three points and Thomson added two.
