Reynolds receives service award

The Waupaca County Republican Party recognized Ron Reynolds with its 2015 Public Service Award.

Don Morgan, former mayor of Weyauwega, presented the award at the GOP’s annual Lincoln/Reagan Day dinner Saturday, Jan. 24, at The Clubhouse Restaurant in Waupaca.

In 1995, Reynolds retired as president, CEO and chairman of Schlafer Supply Co. in Appleton.

A resident of the town of Farmington, Reynolds was a founding member of Waupaca Breakfast Rotary Club in 1993 and a past president of Waupaca Nomads.

Reynolds is also a past chairman of the Waupaca County Republican Party and the 2013 recipient of the Alvan E. Bovay Award, which is given annually to one Republican in each of Wisconsin’s congressional districts in recognition of their dedication to the GOP.

He has also served on the board of directors for Bethany Home in Waupaca and as a commissioner with Waupaca’s Chain O’ Lakes District.

For 20 years, Reynolds has volunteered as a captain to give boat rides to residents of the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. He served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Reynolds is a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, the parish choir and the Waupaca Community Chorus.
