Details of crash on U.S. 10

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office reports that a double-bottom truck crash caused the shutdown of U.S. Highway 10 eastbound lanes from 5:15 a.m. to about 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, in Waupaca.

A FedEx Freight truck was pulling two trailers eastbound on U.S. Highway 10 west of County Trunk A when it slid sideways on the ice-covered roadway.

The truck entered the median and its second trailer jackknifed with its first trailer and overturned.

The second trailer came to rest in the south ditch and the front trailer came to rest on its side in the eastbound travel lanes.

According to the accident report, there was load spillage, but no injuries.

The vehicle was driven by David Hand, 44, of Appleton.
