Heagerty, Fr. Kevin

Fr. Kevin Heagerty, OFM Cap., 79, grew up in Milwaukee and died in Appleton, WI, February 14, 2015. 

Fr. Kevin was a missionary in Panama for 26 years before retiring in 2012. He was devoted to Spanish speaking pastoral ministries in Milwaukee, Racine, Appleton, and Weyauwega, WI and Saginaw, MI for 20 years. He was involved in the Cursillos de Cristiandad movement. He was invested 1953, perpetually professed 1957, and ordained 1961. Fr. Kevin is survived by loving cousins, the family of Marshal Mercier and the friars of the Capuchin Province of St. Joseph with whom he lived, prayed and ministered. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen (Deterling) Heagerty, close friend ‘Buddy,’ and dear aunts and uncles. Visitation will be held Thursday February 19, 2015 at St. Joseph Parish (404 W. Lawrence St. Appleton) beginning at 9:00 a.m. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Lawrence Friary Cemetery, Mount Calvary, WI in the spring.
