Hearts of Green

New Dublin will celebrate 31 years of St. Patrick’s Day Parades this March 21.

“Hearts of Green” is this year’s chosen theme; because of course, Ireland is so dear to our hearts.

Each March New London hosts the state’s largest St. Patrick’s Day parade with over 120 entries, including bagpipers, marching bands, floats, and commercial entries. It has become a time when people from all over come together to celebrate not only St. Patrick’s Day, but their friends and families. We are once again extending a warm welcome and invitation to all to come and share in our festivities.

In addition to our Grand Parade, our Irish Festival will feature market booths, food and refreshments to purchase, and two dynamic bands.

We welcome back to our Irish Fest stage from 11:00-1:00, Seamus Fitzpatrick and the McNally Boys from the Fox Cities. They bring their own unique blend of acoustic Irish folk rock. From 3:00-6:00p.m, we welcome The Gleason’s from Milwaukee. The Gleason’s music consists mostly of their own original tunes, with some cover songs and traditional Celtic music with their own twist; it all blends together into a mixture of traditional Irish, Americana, rock, bluegrass, and American pop. The Gleason’s will get you out on the dance floor! The stage is located in the Festival Foods parking lot in downtown New London, in a huge heated tent.

This year’s Irish Man and Irish Rose are Dave and Sue Tennie, and the parade Grand Marshall is John Faucher.

Come on out to New Dublin March 21, with your “Hearts of Green” to celebrate the Shamrock Club’s 31st year of St. Patrick’s Day week festivities. For more information visit www.newdublin.com, or follow us on Facebook @ New Dublin.
