Truckers lose to Bulldogs

The Clintonville boys’ basketball team saw their season come to an end with a 41-37 loss to the Peshtigo Bulldogs in a Regional Championship game Saturday, March 7.

The Bulldogs raced out to a 14-8 lead after one quarter, but the Truckers held them scoreless in the second period. Clintonville scored three points in the second frame, cutting the deficit to 14-11 at halftime.

Peshtigo outscored Clintonville 12-10 in the third quarter to take a 26-21 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Truckers desperately tried to rally, scoring 16 points in the final quarter of play. Peshtigo put up 15 points in the fourth quarter to preserve a four-point win.

Clintonville made 12 of 36 shots (33 percent) including 5 of 14 from 3-point range (35 percent). The Truckers made 8 of 15 free throws (53 percent).

Petermann scored 14 points and pulled down six boards to lead the Truckers. Hogen and Morse both scored eight, while Lorge added seven points.
