Loehrke advocates for parents, students

I am writing in support of Weyauwega-Fremont School Board candidate Neal Loehrke.

In the past several years I have attended many Weyauwega-Fremont School Board meetings. During that time I have watched with interest Mr. Loehrke.

Being a member of a board is often a tedious and thankless job with hours spent becoming familiar with issues critical to the school. This takes dedication and time away from family.

This attention to detail makes him an excellent board member and a good steward of the tax dollars entrusted to him as a board member.

I appreciate that he is always well prepared and fully informed on the issues before the board.

Mr. Loehrke proves meeting after meeting to be an advocate for parents and students.

He worked tirelessly for the purchase of new band instruments to replace the old, broken and unusable instruments in the school inventory. If you have been to a band concert you can hear the difference.

I, for one, was embarrassed to see a tuba that had been run over by a bus, still being used by band members.

Like our athletes, our band represents our school and should be given the same respect and consideration.

He went above and beyond when parents of band members pointed out that the band members had to pay a rental fee for their band uniforms. No other activity at the school required this kind of fee.

The parents felt that since many of them were also shouldering the rental cost of the instruments, this added expense was unacceptable. Neal sided with the parents and the fee was removed.

Neal Loehrke has been a member of the Weyauwega-Fremont school board for six years. In that time he has never missed a meeting.

This kind of dedication is critical and demonstrates his commitment to the community, the children and the teachers of Weyauwega-Fremont School District.
