Dorothy A. Niemuth, age 87, of Waupaca, WI passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Theda Clark Medical Center.
Dorothy was born in Peoria, Illinois on March 19, 1928, the daughter of the late Edward and Daisy (Johns) Bitterberg. Dorothy was a school teacher for over 32 years, teaching in Morocco at an Air Force base for a year, then in Peoria for eight years and at Weyauwega Middle School for 23 years, retiring in 1994. On September 26, 1958, Dorothy married Robert L. Niemuth in Peoria and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2010. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waupaca Country Club and AAL Branch 1786. She loved reading, golfing, knitting and especially playing bridge.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Richard (Louise) Niemuth, Appleton; Roger Niemuth, Waupaca; Nancy (Mark) Niemuth-Ervin, Columbus, OH; Janet Niemuth, Anchorage, Alaska and Robert (Holly) Niemuth, Waupaca; her grandchildren: Aaron (Becki) Niemuth, Waupaca; A.J. Niemuth, Waupaca; Scott Niemuth, Waupaca; Katie Ervin, Columbus, Ohio; Ellie Ervin, Columbus, Ohio; Cameron Niemuth, Waupaca and Kylie Niemuth, Waupaca and her great-grandchildren, Carter and Kenzie Niemuth. Dorothy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and her sister, Helen Bitterberg.
The Christian Funeral Service will be on Monday, April 6 at 11:30 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waupaca with Reverend Paul Bowe officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park, Waupaca. Visitation will be on Monday morning from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. A memorial fund has been established in Dorothy’s name. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements.
