Vaughan, Fern E.

Fern E. Vaughan, age 98, of Scandinavia, formerly of Manawa, went to her heavenly home on Friday, April 3, 2015 at her residence. She was born on July 25, 1916 in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County, daughter of the late William and Gusta (Besler) Fraedrich. On August 21, 1937 she was united in marriage to Wilbur Vaughan. He preceded her in death in 1999. Fern and Wilbur raised their family on the family farm in the Town of Lind, Waupaca County. They retired and moved to Manawa in 1969. Fern was a homemaker, seamstress and gardener; she loved crafting and rummage sales. 

She is survived by: two children, Marjorie Deuber, Scandinavia; Tom (Wendy) Vaughan, Waupaca; daughter-in-law, Pat Vaughan, Ripley, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Ronald (Barb) Vaughan, Manawa and William Vaughan, Hobert. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Hugh and John; four sisters: Ida, Minnie, Emma and Lilly; and one brother, William; one great-grandchild; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Vaughan. 

The funeral service for Fern will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Manawa United Methodist Church with Rev. Dee Ann Woods officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf. A visitation for Fern will be held directly at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
