Stand up for public education

As a taxpayer in the Iola-Scandinavia School District, I want to thank the 19 school district administrators in CESA 5 for having the courage to speak out against what is happening to the Wisconsin public educational system.

School district administrators are the ones that Act 10 was supposed to help, and if they are having trouble with the latest round of state budget cuts, then it’s time for more people to speak out against what is happening.

I would also like to see more members of the Wisconsin business community stand up for public education.

If good people don’t start doing something soon, this state is headed for greater educational disparity, where only certain areas have the best educational opportunities leaving the rest of the state to rot.

It truly is a sad day in Wisconsin when our school administrators have to publicly beg our governor and Legislature to work with them.
