Tate, Robert R. Sr.

Robert R. Tate Sr., age 64, Weyauwega, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, April 20, 2015 at his residence.

Bob was born on June 2, 1950, in Clintonville, son of the late Donald and Betty (Manier) Tate. On April 19, 1969, he was united in marriage to Florence Mocine in Stephensville. He graduated from Hortonville High School in 1968. Bob owned and operated Sunset Curve for 10 years, along with Sunset Curve Transport, retiring in 2008. He also worked 22 years at the Neenah Foundry, where they recognized his talent in metallurgy and business management and sent him to college. He loved his children and was always helping them; he helped his daughter Cindy renovate her house, worked on cars with his son Adam and taught his son Rob to drive truck and sold him his first Peterbilt truck and taught his daughter Ginny the values of farming and life. Bob cherished his grandchildren. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Baldwins Mills.

Bob is survived by his wife, Florence; daughters, Cindy Tate, Weyauwega; Ginny (Dan) Hartjes, Saxeville; sons, Robert Tate Jr., Weyauwega and Adam Hoeft, Appleton; brothers: Doug (Debbie) Tate, Larsen; Donald Jr. (Barb) Tate, New London; Tim Tate, New London; Jon (Jody) Tate, Stephensville and a sister Linda (Ralph) Mocine, Shiocton. He is further survived by three grandchildren, Sydney, Maddi and Hailey, numerous, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Ann Krause. Funeral services for Bob will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London with Pastor Roger Nielsen officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
