Heroes Musicales features three concerts

Vicki and John Jenks will host three Heroes Musicales at their home in Wild Rose on Saturday, May 16.

Now in its eighth year, the event raises funds for local Red Cross disaster relief and service to the armed forces.

Red Cross Disaster Relief Teams responded to 32 fires in Waupaca, Waushara, Green Lake and Marquette counties in 2014. They provided aid to the families who lost their homes and refreshments to the firefighters.

This year’s Heroes Musicales will feature The Kat Trio at 11 a.m., Guitarist, singer and songwriter Greg Boerner at 1:30 p.m. and percussionists Liam Teague and Robert Chappel at 4 p.m.

Tickets are $30 for each performance and only sold in advance by calling 920-622-3152 or emailing [email protected].

The Jenks live at W7675 County Trunk A in Wild Rose.

Each musicale will include food, refreshments and silent auctions.

Formed in Ekaterinburg, Russia, the ensemble of Joseph Roos on piano, Victoria Gorbich on violin and Vladislav Gorbich on clarinet performs classical, inspirational and American pop music.

Over the past decade The Kat Trio has performed more than 600 concerts.

Greg Boerner plays an eclectic mix of blues, rock and folk music.

Liam Teague is an award-winning steelpan performer from Trinidad and Tobego who has performed with symphony orchestras worldwide. He has recorded eight albums.

Robert Chappell composes contemporary, jazz and international music and plays piano and percussion.
