Traffic
• April 14 – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 9:30 a.m. in the town of Caledonia.
The incident occurred at the lighted intersection of U.S. Highway 45 and State Highway 96.
Darrell Jones, 58, of Fremont, was driving eastbound on Hwy. 96 and Vernon Shover, 70, of Manawa, was driving southbound on USH45 as both vehicles approached the intersection.
The Jones vehicle crashed into the Shover vehicle. Both cars came to rest in the northbound lane of USH45.
According to the police report, both drivers stated that they had a green light.
Jones and Shover were transported to the hospital for non-incapacitating injuries.
A passenger in the Shover vehicle, William Clegg, 67, of New London, was not transported.
