CWEC celebrates 77 years of service

Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative (CWEC) celebrated its 77th annual meeting Saturday, April 18, with more than 250 of its members.

The CWEC annual meeting was held at the Rosholt High School and included the business meeting with president and CEO Mike Wade and Board Chairman Tony Buss presiding.

Among the items on the agenda for the meeting were the financial report, election of board positions, and a report on the overall state of the co-op. Two directors were re-elected to the board; Anthony Buss, Jr., District 1, and Leonard Oppor, District 2.

Door prizes were given to members in attendance several times throughout the meeting.

Area food pantries received nearly 360 items of food donated by CWEC members at the annual meeting food drive. The food drive also helped to promote the many benefits of switching to CFLs from standard incandescent lighting; each person who donated three or more items was given a CFL bulb.

After the official meeting, Comedy City Improv provided entertainment. This improvisation comedy troop’s family-friendly shows have been entertaining Wisconsin crowds for over 25 years. Lunch was served after the entertainment.
