Myszka, Kenneth Frank

Kenneth Frank Myszka, 73, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and children at his side on Saturday May 2, 2015.

Ken was born on April 1, 1942 in Wausau, Wisconsin to the late, Leo and Theresa (Bargender) Myszka. Ken proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines during Vietnam from 1962-1966. He married Kathleen Zydowicz on October 7, 1967 in Milwaukee, WI. Ken and Kathy moved to Waupaca in 1973 making a home on a 40 acre farm. Ken and Kathy’s marriage was blessed with three children during their 47 years together. Ken enjoyed fishing and hunting and was called to heaven on opening day of fishing. He loved to garden, watch NASCAR, Sunday morning polka hour, cutting wood, spending his retirement time at his place in St. Germain with family and relaxing in his shed with a moderate priced beer after a long day of work. Ken was a member of Operating Engineers Local 139 working as a heavy equipment operator for Beaudoin and Sons in Menominee Falls, WI from 1968-1989 and retiring in 2004 from James Cape Co. During the late 70s, Ken owned and operated Ken’s Excavating in Waupaca. He was a member of American Legion Post #161 in King, WI for 26 years and a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church since moving to Waupaca in the early 70s. Ken especially enjoyed spending time with his two grandchildren; they brought so much joy to his life especially during his courageous two year battle with cancer, giving him the courage to never give up. Ken will be deeply missed by all of his loving family and friends.

Ken is survived by: his wife, Kathleen, along with their three children, Lisa (Terry Uhlenbrauck) Myszka, De Pere, WI; Lori (Scott) Smith, Beaver Dam, WI; Kenny (Natalie) Myszka, Waupaca, WI. He is also survived by two grandsons, Nathan Smith and Little Kenny Myszka; four brothers and five sisters: Sister Mary Ursula, Chicago, IL; Sister Mary Carlotta, Chicago, IL; Jim (Marlene) Myszka, Egder, WI; Betty (Dan) Miskulin, Abbottsford, WI; Joyce (Gary) Binning, Abbottsford, WI; Jerry (Ronda) Myszka, Athens, WI; Glenn (Sharon) Myszka, Athens, WI; Cindy (Eric) Drewek, Stevens Point, WI; Randall (Patty) Myszka, Edgar, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his beautiful granddaughter, Noel Ann Smith and niece Katie Binning. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, May 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church with Father Amalraj Roche, presiding. Military graveside services will follow in the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Holly Funeral Home and also on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. 
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Anthony Phillips and the staff at Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, Dr. Earl Anderson along with Theda Care Hospice especially Sina and Sarah for their love and support over the last couple years.
