Indians knock off Amherst

Weyauwega-Fremont’s baseball team picked up a 10-3 Central Wisconsin 8 Conference win April 30 at Amherst.

The Indians opened the scoring with four runs in the top of the second inning and added three runs in the fifth.

Amherst got on the board with two runs in the fifth, but W-F answered with one in the sixth and two in the seventh.

Bryce Akey, Trevor Wetzel, Kaleb Sciborski and Sam Schoenick each had two of the Indians’ 10 hits. Akey and Wetzel drove in three and two runs, respectively, while Logan Bosquez got the win on the mound.

The Indians will host Iola-Scandinavia at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 7, and will have another doubleheader at home Thursday, May 14, against Wittenberg-Birnamwood.
