Vernon A. Volz, age 87 of Aurora, CO (formerly of New London) passed away unexpectedly on April 19, 2015 in New London, WI.
Vernon was born September 27, 1927 in New London, WI. He attended Lutheran Day School through 8th grade and graduated from New London High School in 1945. Vern was inducted into the Army in 1945. When he returned from service, he attended business school in Appleton, WI where he met Jean, the woman who was to become his wife in 1949. He owned and operated Volz Chevrolet for 30 years as an auto dealer. He was an avid golfer and took every Thursday off to enjoy the game. Vern was a devoted Christian and was also very active in his church all his life. He was also a devoted Lions Club member for the past 60 years.
Survivors include: his wife of 65 years, Jean; his four children: Steve (Jean) Volz of Manitowoc, Chris (Sue) Volz of Aurora, CO; Vicki Christian of New London, and Robin (Dan) Gladdis of Florida. Vern is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Vern is preceded in death by his father, AW Volz and mother Hearther Volz of New London.
A Military Service will be held on July 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Vern will be missed by his wife, family, and friends. We love you forever and you’ll always be in our hearts.
