Goodreau performs with Kids from Wisconsin

Nicole Goodreau will be performing with Kids from Wisconsin for the third consecutive year.

The New London native is actively involved in all aspects of her school music program. For the past seven years Goodreau has been an accomplished performer in choir, show choir, musical theatre productions, solo competitions, civic events and solo and ensemble music festivals. Most recently she played the title roles in New London High School’s productions of “Annie” and “Cinderella” and received WSMA exemplary state solo awards for both her classical and musical theatre entries.

In hopes of pursuing a career in musical theater, she plans on continuing her passion by studying at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City in the fall.

This year’s Kids from Wisconsin tour theme exemplifies a “Wisconsin Hometown” sentiment of — “No Place We’d Rather Be.”

Executive Director Tina Weiss said, “Having a hometown kid in the Kids from Wisconsin is a great privilege to these communities. Our show program and performance introduces each kid from their specific hometown. Having a hometown kid is something to be proud of. Enjoying and participating in the kid experience has had a positive impact on the lives of our 900 alumni and the nearly 5 million audience members inspired by our performances for nearly 50 years.”

Thirty three of Wisconsin’s most talented youth, along with nine camp alternates were chosen during state wide auditions in February. The troupe consists of 20 singer/dancers and a 13 piece show band.

The New London Lions Club will host a Kids from Wisconsin performance Wednesday, July 22 at 7 p.m. in the New London High School Auditorium

Tickets can be purchased at Wolf River Community Bank, First State Bank or by calling 920-810-3348
