Buelow, Donald F.

Donald F. Buelow (Silver Fox), 71, New London, passed away May 14, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

Don was born in New London, WI on October 22, 1943 to Frederick and Vivian (Lindner) and was raised in New London. He graduated from New London High School and went on to join the U.S. Navy in 1961. After the Navy, he began his career at Curwood in New London until retiring in 2007, after 41 years of service. Don was an avid sportsman who found great joy spending time hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He loved spending precious time with his sons and grandchildren while sharing his passion for the outdoors. Don looked forward to his time away in St. Germain and Conover, WI. He also appreciated the time he spent watching his grandkids participate in various sporting activities. Don took great pride in landscaping and finishing the basement at his new home to share with family and friends.

Don is survived by his beloved wife, Mamie; sons, Shannon (Gail) Buelow, children, Cole and Jake; Scott (Dawn) Buelow; Shawn (Cindy) Buelow, children, Carissa (Ty) and Amberlynn (Vince); stepchildren, Michael (Tina) Schulke, children, Alex and Parker and Tracy (Chris) Weis, children, Henry and Walter; sister, Nancy (LaWayne) Zirbel; great-granddaughter Aaliyah and first wife, Sherry. He is further survived by many relatives, friends, extended Curwood family and dog Missy. Don was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother, William and his canine companion, Gadget.

Funeral services to be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015, from 4-7 p.m. at Cline Hanson Funeral Home, New London and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
