The same two teams matched up again Thursday, May 28, this time in Clintonville.

This time Clintonville scored first, getting a run in the bottom of the first inning. Each team scored a run in the second inning with Winneconne scoring two runs in the third inning to take a 3-2 lead.

Clintonville loaded the bases in the third and fourth inning, but failed to push any runs across the plate.

That changed in the fifth inning, when the Truckers scored five runs to take control of the game. The big hit in the inning was a double by Hogen that drove in three runs.

With the game on the line in the final inning, Winneconne put up four runs to tie the game at 7-7. Winneconne took advantage of two walks and two singles in the inning.

Morse led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a single for the Truckers. He stole second base to get into scoring position. The next two batters flied out and struck out. Winneconne’s pitcher then uncorked a wild pitch which allowed Morse to score all the way from second base.

The run gave Clintonville an 8-7 win.

Morse led the Truckers with four hits.

Vollmer got the win for the Truckers.
