Sell, LaVerne V.

LaVerne V. Sell, age 90, of Minot, ND, formerly of the Township of Larrabee, Waupaca County, WI died Monday, June 8, 2015 in a Minot nursing home.

LaVerne was born June 2, 1925 in the Town of Larrabee to Herbert and Anita (Blankschien) Ebel. She was raised near Clintonville, graduating from Clintonville High School in 1943. LaVerne was united in marriage to Howard Sell on October 30, 1943 in Clintonville. The couple made their home on her family’s farmstead in the Town of Larrabee. LaVerne was employed at the Hansen Glove Factory for many years. Howard preceded his wife in death on February 17, 2005. LaVerne continued to live on the farmstead for two years before moving into Clintonville and eventually to Minot to be with her daughter, Donna and her son-in-law, Arlyn. Throughout the years, LaVerne was a faithful member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville. She was an active member and also held offices in both the Flower & Garden Club of Clintonville and the Homemaker’s Group of Marion throughout the years. LaVerne enjoyed family time, planning and decorating the themed trees for Christmas, traveling with Howard, and playing cards, especially Canasta. She was often found tending to her flowers, where joy was found in the arrangements she crafted. She will be missed by all who shared in her life.

Her loving family includes, daughter, Donna (Arlyn) Marquardt, Minot; son-in-law, Herman Pankow, Clintonville, WI; grandchildren: Todd (Carole) Pankow, Tim Pankow, Christopher (Julie) Marquardt and Jeremy (Jessica) Marquardt; great-grandchildren: Kendra and Evan Pankow, Lauren and Brooke Marquardt, Oliver and Liam Marquardt. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Judith Pankow.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville with Rev. Christian Burg and Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, also in Clintonville. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
