John and Christina Hatherly announced the the recipients of their 2015 scholarships.

The money for these scholarships are raised through Ride Waupaca.

Ride Waupaca is a 12- to 100-mile bike ride that begins at Waupaca High School and runs through the rural areas of Waupaca and Portage counties.

Students with the Waupaca High School National Honor Society and Students Against Destructive Decisions work the two rest stops along the route.

Christina Hatherly organized the ride for her husband John for his 50th birthday five years ago. The Hatherlys are from Illinois and own a place on the Chain O’ Lakes.

Through sponsors and ride fees Ride Waupaca has given more than $150,000 in scholarships.
