David DeBolt’s life, art and support of the fine arts in Waupaca will be celebrated during a tribute exhibit, which is being held at the Waupaca Community Arts Center, 200 N. Main St.

The exhibit’s opening reception will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, when many of his friends and students will gather to remember him.

The exhibit will run until Oct. 13.

DeBolt’s artistic work included caricatures, cartoons, portraits and murals.

For almost 15 years, DeBolt and his wife Kristy ran Originals Inc., a gallery which featured artwork by regional artists.

During his years in Waupaca, he was an art teacher and also served 10 years as the Exhibit Room coordinator, at the Waupaca Area Public Library.

The Waupaca Community Arts Center is holding the exhibit of his artwork to celebrate the contributions he made to the art scene in Waupaca.

The arts center will have a guest book available throughout the duration of the exhibit for those who would like to share an anecdote or other words of remembrance for Kristy to have.
