New London teacher attends New York conference

Lori Menning, English as a second language and bilingual/bicultural education teacher at New London, recently participated in the Charlotte Jacques Wolf Educators’ Conference on Echoes and Reflections in New York City.

A joint program of the Anti-Defamation League, USC Shoah Foundation, and Yad Vashem, Echoes and Reflections prepares educators to teach about the Holocaust in a way that stimulates engagement and critical thinking while providing opportunities for students to see the relevance of this complex history in their own lives.

The weeklong conference, now in its eighth year, provides an opportunity for educators to engage in a deep exploration of Echoes and Reflections materials and testimony, learn from Holocaust and genocide experts and scholars, met with Holocaust survivors, and collaborate with like-minded educators from across the United States.
