Local heroes celebrated in Iola

Community heroes were celebrated at the Iola Village Library.

Several local organizations gathered in the library’s parking lot for Community Heroes Night Tuesday, Aug. 4.

There were representatives from Iola Police Department, Iola & Rural Fire Department, Iola-Scandinavia Community Fitness & Aquatic Center, Iola Community Garden, Iola Children’s Gardent, Matthew 25:35 Food Pantry, Wisconsin National Guard, Iola Lions Club and Iola Lioness Club.

Also attending were the Humane Society of Waupaca County and One Small Drop, the two charities local children were reading for this summer.

The event celebrated the end of this year’s Summer Library Program, “Every Hero Has a Story.”
