Manawa DAV chapter recognized
Local group named Outstanding Chapter of the Year
Disabled American Veterans Chapter 53 in Manawa was named Outstanding Chapter of the Year in Wisconsin.
The chapter received the award at the state convention in Appleton.
It’s not the first time the chapter has won the award. Other years it has won include 2000, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011.
Judging was based on membership promotion program used by the chapter and the results, participation in the DAV, chapter meetings, fund raising, donations to hospitals, participation in community events, publicity, participating in legislative procedures, and conducting visits and programs at hospitals and nursing homes.
For winning the award, the chapter will receive the Matt Werel Trophy and $500.
