Eye glasses collected in New London

Donations going to Lions vision project

London Jewelers of New London recently held an eye glasses donation drive with the donations going to the Lions vision project.

London Jewelers collected 112 pairs of eye wear at its retail location, with another 46 pairs collected at Trinity Church in Bear Creek. Used cell phones and two pairs of hearing aids were also collected.

Those interested in donating used glasses, or regular and prescription sunglasses, can still do so. Broken glasses are recycled for metals.

Cell phones are also being collected to recycle the metal.

Donated hearing aids go to those in need.

Nothing is resold. All items are given to those in need. Presently, they go to South American countries, and other places that are safe for Lions members to distribute.
