Kisting wins girls’ race in Weyauwega

Cross country runners tuned up for upcoming conference and sectional meets Oct. 8 at the Don Chase Relays at Weyauwega-Fremont High School.

Wautoma and Wittenberg-Birnamwood won boys’ and girls’ championships, respectively.

Team scores for the boys were Wautoma (46), Amherst (56), Westfield/Montello (68), Bonduel (89), Wittenberg-Birnamwood (90), Manawa (168) and Weyauwega-Fremont (176). Iola-Scandinavia, Marion and Menominee Indian had incomplete teams.

Team scores for the girls were Wittenberg-Birnamwood (46), Amherst (74), Iola-Scandinavia (101), Weyauwega-Fremont (105), Wautoma (133), Marion (139), Bonduel (150) and Westfield/Montello (158). Manawa had an incomplete team.

Menominee Indian’s Grant Gomeyosh won the boys’ race in 17:34, while Iola-Scandinavia’s Erika Kisting won the girls’ race in 19:23.

Placing for the Manawa boys were Jared Zielke (22nd, 19:22); Andrew Scheller (29th, 19:54); Scott Schneider (43rd, 21:15); Sebastian Wagner (49th, 23:22); Johnathon Lubahn (50th, 23:50); Devin Loughrin (54th, 25:26); and Ethan Michalowski (55th, 25:37).

Placing for the Weyauwega-Fremont boys were Duane Brazil (14th, 19:01); Nic Leach (46th, 22:11); Austin Baehnman (47th, 22:31); Glenn Walborn (48th, 23:13); and Logan Feltz 24:23).

Placing for the Iola-Scandinavia boys were Erick Kriewaldt (13th, 18:58); and Trenton Niemi (53rd, 25:16).

Besides Kisting, placing for the Iola-Scandinavia girls were Leighten Fischer (fourth, 20:07); Jada Beacom (12th, 21:39); Natalie Rustad (36th, 24:04); and Haley Ullom (51st, 26:21).

Placing for the Weyauwega-Fremont girls were Caragan Volz (sixth, 21:00); Daisy Wilson (ninth, 21:28); Saylor Alberts (18th, 22:42); Marlen Leyva (29th, 23:25); Natalie Schneider (44th, 24:58); and Emily Durrant (52nd, 26:24).

Placing for the Manawa girls were Jody Wentworth (43rd, 24:51); Lexi Smiles (48th, 25:35); Brianna Severson (50th, 26:14); and Josie Claussen (56th, 31:59).

Iola-Scandinavia and Manawa also headed to Marion Oct. 5 for the Marion Invitational.

Clintonville won the boys’ and girls’ titles, while the Manawa boys placed second.

Placing for the Iola-Scandinavia girls were Fischer (third, 21:07); Beacom (fifth, 23:01); Rustad (11th, 24:27); and Ullom (19th, 27:08).

Placing for the Iola-Scandinavia boys were Kriewaldt (fourth, 20:00); and Niemi (21st, 25:57).

Placing for the Manawa girls were Wentworth (15th, 25:47); Smiles (16th, 26:38); and Severson (22nd, 28:05).

Placing for the Manawa boys were Zielke (third, 19:49); Scheller (sixth, 20:28); Schneider (12th, 22:38); Wagner (13th, 22:39); Lubahn (20th, 25:25); Michalowski (22nd, 28:03); and Loughrin (23rd, 28:04).
