Reader defends Rep. Paul Ryan’s record

It amazes me that some people prejudge newly elected public officials in such a negative and hate-filled way.

Newly elected House Speaker Paul Ryan is indeed one of the most intelligent and respected people among his peers on both sides of the political aisle. With his stellar record heading up Ways and Means in Washington, there is no reason to believe that Mr. Ryan will perform any differently as House Speaker.

So, why pontificate that he will be bad for our country even before he has a chance to have his name printed on his office door?

That being said, how can a person predict that he will do a bad job as our new speaker? Pure hatred is all I can think of, and this unhappy person truly deserves our prayers. What a way to live.
