New London handed Weyauwega-Fremont a 63-47 defeat Nov. 23 in a nonconference girls’ basketball game.

The Bulldogs outscored the Indians 35-23 in the first half and 28-24 in the second half.

“I thought we battled very hard against a good New London team,” W-F coach Joe Titus said. “They had length, size and pressure on their side, but I thought we handled it well. Offensively, they move a lot and our girls did a great job communicating, getting under and over screens and hedging.”

W-F eventually cut the lead to 39-34 in the second half, but couldn’t get any closer.

Alyssa Goode led the Indians with 17 points, while Karissa Akey also finished in double figures with 12.

Leah Porath had 22 points to lead New London and Kate Christian added 17.

New London travels to Shawano Friday, Dec. 4 with a 2-1 season record.

The Indians will head to North Fond du Lac Friday, for a 7:30 p.m. nonconference matchup with the Orioles.
