Iola-Scandinavia girls basketball team outscores Manawa

The Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds defeated  the Manawa Wolves 41-24 in a Tuesday girls’ basketball conference match-up in Iola.

The T-Birds came out strong outscoring the Wolves 22-9 in the first half.

Leighten Fischer poured in 13 points of the 22 points for the T-Birds while Laynie Bessette scored 5 points to lead the Wolves.

Iola-Scandinavia continued their drive in the second half of the game to seal the victory.

Fischer led the scoring for Iola-Scandinavia with 26 points, followed by Baleigh Fuhs and Kendall Johnson with 4 each.

Bessette was the high scorer for Manawa with 17 points, followed by Lesley Wilz with 3.

On Dec. 8, Manawa will take on Shiocton at home, while the T-Birds will travel  to Weyauwega-Fremont.
