Hortonville basektball teams win three

Hortonville’s basketball program recorded a trio of wins last week between the boys’ and girls’ teams.

Boys

HORTONVILLE – Lightning was not a threat to the Polar Bears Friday, Dec. 4, as the Hortonville’s boys’ basketball team cruised past Appleton North for a 63-44 victory at home.

Hortonville led 28-19 over the Lightning at halftime.

Ryan Krueger led the Polar Bears’ scoring with 23 points, according to WisSports. Kyle Witthuhn and Charlie Schabo followed with 11 points each.

Other scorers for the Polar Bears were Braden Stoeger (6), Jay Welson (4), Sam Thompson (3), Trevor Coenen (2), Adam Zeratsky (2) and Tanner Pahl (1).

Girls
Hortonville 59, Appleton North 45
APPLETON – The girls also took on the Appleton North Lightning Friday, Dec. 4, and came out on top.

The teams battled in a close first half with the Polar Bears going into halftime ahead at 20-18.

Morgan Allen was quick on her feet to complete 19 successful rebounds for the Polar Bears.

Hortonville’s highest scorers for the night were Madi Walter (18), Allen (14) and Jenna Jalling (14), according to WisSports.

Hortonville 71, Appleton East 63
HORTONVILLE – The Polar Bears won in a close game against Appleton East on Dec. 1.

The Polar Bears held a five-point lead over Appleton East at halftime with a score of 33-28.

Walter and Jalling tied for the Polar Bears’ top scorer of the night with 17 points. Frederick kicked in 15 points. Allen grabbed 12 rebounds.
