Carol L. Beckman, age 78, died on Wedneday, December 9, 2015 at her daughters home in Hortonville.
She was born on February 17, 1937, in the Town of Bloomfield, the daughter of the late August and Dora (Klotzbicker) Strey. On August 30, 1958, Carol married Emery Beckman at Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on October 2, 2011. Carol was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Readfield. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, camping, boating, motorcycling, RV trips, traveling, and feeding and watching the birds.
Carol is survived by three children, Nancy (Larry) Danke, Fremont, Terry Beckman, New London, and Karen(Mark)White, Hortonville; five grandchildren, Darren(Eva)Danke, Tyler(Ruth)Danke, Sheena(Justin)Oberg, Karl White and Emma White; six great-grandchildren, Noah and Owen Danke, Andrew and William Danke and Cloey and Cooper Oberg; three sisters, Beatrice Artz, Clintonville, LaVera Strey, Appleton; and Sylvia Theis, Appleton; a sister-in-law, Beverly(Robert)Buchholtz, Fremont; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, Raymond Strey, Evelyn Ticks, Alvin Strey, Lila Bestul, Eleanor Ratajczak, and Dorothy Gough.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church, N985 County Rd W, Readfield. Pastor Peter Kesting will officiate. Burial will be in Dale Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, at the church, from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
