I-S falls to Bonduel

Thunderbirds’ second-half comeback falls short

The hosting Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds suffered a 50-37 loss to the Bonduel Bears in a Friday night conference match-up in girls’ basketball.

The Bears outscored the T-Birds 25-9 in the first half of play, led by Danee Collier who scored 11 of her game high 15 points.

The T-Birds came back strong in the second half, outscoring the Bears 28-25, but it was not enough.

Leighten Fischer led the scoring for Iola-Scandinavia with 18 points, followed by Baleigh Fuhs with 12.
Collier topped the scoring for Bonduel with 15, followed by Emily Sorenson with 14 and Taylor Weier with 10.

The Thunderbirds will now take on Saint Mary Catholic at home on Dec. 15.
