Laux, Helen K.

Helen Kathleen Laux, age 85, of New London passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Residence in New London.

Helen was born in New London on April 3, 1930, the daughter of the late John and Mae (Carey) Rohan and was a resident of New London her entire life. She was married on November 26, 1953 to Pete Laux, a widower, with four children. At the time of his death, they had celebrated 55 years of marriage. Helen was a loving wife and mother. She was a member of Most Precious Blood Church, including Senior Sodality and the church prayer lines. Everyone who knew Helen knew how much her Catholic faith meant to her. She lived her life every day with her faith in God. She loved spending time with family and friends and keeping up on them.

Helen is survived by daughters, Patty (Douglas) Wolfe, Waupaca; Bette Gorges, New London; Ann (Bob) Braaten, Greenville; Theresa (Carl) Nelson, Mackinaw, IL; Paula Laux, Dallas, TX and Mary (DuWayne) Verch, Ripon; sons, Pete (Jane) Laux, Plover; Mike (Vicki) Laux, Neenah and Joe (Lynn) Laux, Onalaska; sister, Jane Auer, New London; fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. Helen is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband Pete; a son James; sisters, Ann Petit and Marie Huss and a son-in-law, Leland Gorges.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. Fr. Xavier Santiago will be officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service directly at the church. Burial will be at the Most Precious Blood Cemetery in New London. The Cline and Hanson Funeral Home in New London, is serving the family.
