Manawa church welcomes new pastor

Reichle to lead St. Paul Lutheran

By Connie Klotzbuecher

St. Paul Lutheran Church, of Manawa, installed Rev. Nathan Reichle as its new church pastor on Sunday, Dec. 27.

The installing officer was Rev. Levi Willms, of Bethany in Kaukauna.

The installation worship service included performances by the choir, the men’s choir, and the school choir. A fellowship meal followed the installation.

Reichle said he and his family were “awed at the friendly welcome we are receiving and the lengths people are going to in order to open their hearts and arms to us.”

He appreciated the amount of effort put into the installation worship service and by the number of people who came out on a Sunday afternoon “to celebrate this new thing that God is doing with us.”

Reichle received a Master of Divinity degree in 2006 from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.

Prior to coming to St. Paul Lutheran, Reichle served nine years as one of the pastors at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Greenville.

The Cambridge, Minnesota, native came to Manawa with his wife Sarah and their children: Wilhelmina, 8; Julius, 5; Peter, 3; and August, 1.

Reichle said he is excited to get to know the people of St. Paul Lutheran and learn its history as well as Manawa’s. He is excited to support and promote the work of the day school as it raises young men and women to be knowledgeable and responsible Christians.

Reichle invites the community to a five-week Bible study of Islam at 9:30 a.m. Sundays.

“In these times when Islam is consistently being featured in the news, it is important for us to have a clear understanding of this religion and not simply operate from caricatures that we do not know are true or false,” Reichle said.
