The Clintonville boys’ basketball team lost 63-58 to the Little Chute Mustangs in a North Eastern Conference game on Thursday, Jan. 7.

Little Chute started to pull away at the half, ending it with a 5-0 run and ahead 31-23. They went on to score the first three points of the second half for an 8-0 run.

“That put us in a bit of a hole, and we couldn’t get much closer than three or four points after that,” Clintonville coach Shawn Howe said.

Clintonville and Little Chute turned out 29 and 28 rebounds, respectively. The teams were also close in personal fouls, with 19 for the Truckers and 17 for the Mustangs.

Junior Nathan Krueger turned out 17 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Tyler Petermann recorded 12 points and eight assists.

“I thought the bench did a great job for us regarding minutes and points,” Howe said. “For each of our losses this year, we are just a couple of plays away. Hopefully we can learn from these close games.”

As of last week the Truckers’ season record was 3-5. Their five losses were all within two to six points.
