Polar Bears take third in Minnesota

Hortonville wrestlers beat Oshkosh North

The Hortonville wrestling team landed third place at the Rick Lee Invitational in Bemidji, Minnesota, on Saturday, Jan. 9.

The Polar Bears finished behind first-place Kenyon-Wanamingo and second-place Frazee, both of Minnesota. The event was a team tournament so individuals weren’t ranked.

120: Noah Heimmermann won by pin in 3:45. 138: Jordan Cheslock won by a 12-3 major decision. 145: Corbin Young won by pin in 3:38. 160: Kirkland Hills won by pin in 2:18. 170: Griffen Cartwright won by a 5-2 decision. 195: Nate Bohman won by pin in 1:15. 285: Nick Leick lost by pin in 24 seconds. 145: Garrett Van Handel lost an exhibition match by pin in 4:46. 152: Brad Scheiderwendt lost an exhibition match by pin in 2:46.

Rece Benett (106), Leighton Serran (113), Alex Kuske (152) won by forfeit. There were double forfeits in the 126-pound and 132-pound weight classes.
