Olsen , Vivadell J.

Vivadell June Olsen, age 93, of Auroraville, died peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Preston Place in Redgranite.

She was born June 14, 1922 in Taylers Falls, MN, the daughter of Carl and Charlott Ellickson Simonson. Vivadell was a 1940 graduate of Dafoe High School in Wautoma, and a 1944 graduate of Lutheran Deaconess School of Nursing in Chicago. She served her country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific Theatre as a nurse. On November 27, 1948, she was united in marriage to Clifford A. Olsen. She worked for Dr. Darby in Wautoma, and then in the O.B. Dept. at Berlin Memorial Hospital. She was a home health care and Public Health Nurse for Waushara County for many years. Vivadell loved to knit, cross-stitch, needlepoint, read and do crossword puzzles. She was a dog lover and used her laptop computer almost every day. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed the Packers, Badgers and Brewers games. She also loved to travel and grow flowers. Vivadell was a member of First Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi, a past Sunday School teacher, and a 4-H Leader.

She is survived by her children, Sen. Luther (Joan) Olsen, David (Becky) Olsen, Christine Olsen, and Paul (Cheryl) Olsen; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Olen, Peter Olsen, Daniel (Theresa) Olsen, Bethany (Jake) Wagner, Jacob Olsen (special friend, Claudia), Emily (Derek) Danay, Hannah Olsen, Catelyn Olsen, Mykayla Wade, Logan (fiancé, Brittany) Spillner, Keith (Pam) Van Ornum, and Alan (Anita) Van Ornum; great-grandchildren, Selma, Angelo, Antonio, Noah, Jaxson, Rae Marie, and Haley; her brothers, Charles (Doris) Simonson, and John (Jubie) Simonson; many cousins; nieces and nephews. Vivadell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on Jan. 24, 1985; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Levi and Lucille Olsen, and Harry and Myrna Tostenson.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi with Rev. W. Paul Brinkman officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, in the Town of Aurora. Family and friends may call at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and also at the church on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
