Olson, Rev. Harley

Rev. Harley W. Olson, age 98, of Berlin found peace in the arms of His Savior on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Patriot Place in Berlin.

He was born March 24, 1917 in New Auburn, WI, the son of Martin and Cora Clemenson Olson. Harley was a 1935 graduate of New Auburn High School. He was ordained in the Assemblies of God denomination in 1957. He served congregations in Beloit and Berlin, and from 1974-1984, was the District Superintendent for Wisconsin and Northern Michigan. He later was an Instructor at Southeastern College in Lakeland, FL. Among his hobbies and interests were woodworking, making clocks and furniture out of cypress wood. Harley was an avid reader.

Harley is survived by his wife, Elaine Feder-Olson; a grandson, Chad (Christine) Olson; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, David and Stephanie Olson; sisters-in-law, Goldie Olson, Dorothy Wahl and Lennie Olson; and his step-daughters, Annette (Wendell) Murray and Ella Mae (Gary) Stanelle; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Wahl Olson; son, David; a sister, Esther Taxdahl; brothers, John, Milford, and Kenneth Olson; brother-in-law, Elmer Wahl; and sister-in-law, Mary Olson.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Community Church in Berlin with Rev. Larry Liebe, D.S. and Rev. Terry J. Reiser officiating. Interment will follow in Spencer Lake Memorial Park in Waupaca. Family and friends may call at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin on Friday, January 29, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and also at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
