William “Bill” E. Minks, age 89 of Waupaca, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 26, 2016 at his residence.
Bill was born on October 16, 1926, the son of John and Effie (Denny) Minks. Bill married Jean Kindle on November 13, 1948 in Chicago, IL. Bill served in WWII in the U.S. Army and drove truck for Mercury Marine for 32 years, and then retired.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jean Minks of Waupaca; his children: Susan (Leonard) Jensen of Waupaca, Bonnie Lang of Waupaca, Colleen (Steve) Peterson of Eau Claire, Doreen ”Dee” (Steve) VanRyzin of Appleton, Dale (Kathy) Minks of Waupaca; grandchildren: Melissa (Andy) Garbe, Michelle Orozco, Tara (Joe) Bottchen, Joshua Minks, Cody Minks, Toni (Steve) Kattestad, Krissy (Marc) Helbach, Ryan Johnson, Trisha (Ethan) Kanaman; great-grandchildren, Roberto, Nayeli, Miguel, Katelyn, Manuel, Alyvia, Josie, Austin, Joshua, Cole, Hayden, Blake, Sophia, Chance, Violet, and Gracie; brother, Elmer Minks, many other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and Effie Minks; brothers, Howard, Robert, Carl, Laverne; sisters, Minnie, Margaret, Marie, and Ruby.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 12 noon at the Parfreyville United Methodist Church. Rev. Eric Taylor will officiate. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon. The Holly Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
