Salvation Army bell ringer recalls act of kindness
While ringing the bell again this year for the Salvation Army, I recalled a particular moment that occurred last year.
Late one afternoon, a young man, around middle-school age, came by and dropped a few coins in my “kettle.”
He then gave me a hot chocolate from McDonald’s.
He didn’t ask me if I was a Republican or a Democrat, or any questions about the money.
He just handed me the cup and said, “Thanks for what you are doing.”
I don’t know the young man’s name, but I appreciate him giving me this special memory.
It sincerely touched me.
Moments like this are not soon forgotten.
