Peterson, Nola J.

Nola J. Peterson, 85, of Iola, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, where she had been a resident since 2013.

Nola was born in Iola, Wisconsin on July 2, 1930, a daughter of the late Theressa (Hartvig) and Elvin Loken. She married Harold Peterson on March 31, 1951 at Fort Riley, Kansas. He preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 2009. Nola was a beautician all her life and operated Nola’s Northernaire in Iola for over 25 years. She was a member of the Northland Lutheran Church and was very active in all aspects of the church. Nola enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens, traveling with Harold along with spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children: David (Donna) Peterson of Hartford, John Peterson of Iola, Linda (Mike) Anderson of Amherst Jct. and Jean (Tony) Gliniecki of Waupaca. Nola is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Janet (Jerry) Paulson of Savannah, Georgia; brother-in-law, Mike (Arlette) Peterson of Iola; sisters-in-law, Grace Jueds of Marion, and Sharon Peterson of Iola; along with nieces nephews other relatives and friends. Nola was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Loken.

Funeral Service will be held at Northland Lutheran Church, Iola, Wisconsin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6th, with Reverend Dan Somers and Marcia Sabin officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday at the church from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
