Weyauwega-Fremont girls lose in Anherst

The Amherst Falcons chalked up a 39-29 victory over the Weyauwega-Fremont Indians, in a Friday, Feb. 12, girls’ basketball matchup in Amherst.

The Falcons took an early lead in the game and headed to the looker room with a 20-16 advantage, led by Kendra Dombrowski with six points.
During the second half, Amherst once again outscored the Indians 19-13.

Grace Moe sank seven out of eight shots from the line, to help seal the victory and improving their conference record to 9-2, while W-F falls to 6-6.

Leading the scoring for Amherst was Dombrowski with 12, followed by Moe with nine and Ashley Groshek with seven.

Karissa Akey scored 13 for the Indians, followed by Alyssa Goode with 8 and Hailey Krause with four.

On Feb. 15, the Falcons will travel to Manawa to take on the Wolves and Weyauwega-Fremont will travel to Wittenberg-Birnamwood to play the Chargers.
