Larson, Betty Anna (Britton)

Betty Anna (Britton) Larson, age 93, of the Town of Farmington, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Bethany Home in Waupaca.

Betty was a daughter of the late Nora (Sorlie) and Palmer Britton. She was born on March 7, 1923 in Hayward, Wisconsin where she was also baptized. Betty was confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. She married Belford A. Larson on May 22, 1944 in Milwaukee. They moved to Scandinavia in 1947 and bought the farm in 1951. Belford preceded her in death on May 13, 2004. Betty was a member of Farmington Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School for 10 years, sang in the choir, tied quilts for the sewing group for many years and volunteered for many things going on. She worked for over 29 years for Woodys Cheese in Waupaca. Betty enjoyed baking cakes for friends and family and she also made soap along with quilts, for Lutheran World Relief for many years.

She is survived by son, Marshall (Lisa) Larson, of New London; grandsons: Steven Biever, Jimmy Biever, Martin (Mandy) Sloinski, Frank (Natalie) Sloinski and Christopher Larson; great-grandsons, Griffin and Callum Sloinski and Adam Petersen; son-in-law, John Biever of Waupaca. Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Biever, six brothers: Roland, Leroy, Myron, Donald, Eugene and Edward, and two sisters, Lorraine and Virginia.

Funeral Service will be held at Farmington Lutheran Church, N4414 County Road Q, in the Town of Farmington at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 31st with Reverend Mark E. Sabin officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Farmington Lutheran Church.
