Lorge, Christina

Christina “Tina” Lorge, age 76, of Bear Creek passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 at her home.

The former Christina Cordelia Ziegler was born on December 13, 1939 in Waunakee, WI to Peter and Seraphine (Meinholz) Ziegler. Tina attended Waunakee High School but didn’t graduate, so in 1973 she earned her diploma from New London High School. She was united in marriage on April 15, 1958 to Gerald D. Lorge at St. Peter Catholic Church, Ashton, WI. The couple made their home in Bear Creek where they raised five children and she assisted her husband with countless political doings over his lengthy career as an Attorney, State Assemblyman, and State Senator. Her husband preceded her in death on February 14, 2001. Tina was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother. Her deep faith was evident and shared with so many fellow parishioners at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek. She volunteered with St. Mary’s PCCW and the Vicariate CCW – Diocese of Green Bay; worked for church dinners and fish fries; taught Catechism for the youth; and helped with numerous projects and fund-raisers for the church. She also served for many years as a St. Joseph Residence board member. Tina always saw the good in everyone and treated people with respect. She was warm and welcoming to all and often opened her home to family and friends.

Survivors include five children: Atty. Robert Gerald (Charn) Lorge of Sun Prairie, Bill Lorge of Waunakee, Anna Morgan of Lodi, Julie (James) Ertmer of Neenah, and Dr. Christina Lorge-Grover of Stevens Point. There are 11 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Johnny, Paul, and Emily Lorge; Tanya and Levi Morgan; Kayla and Jimmy Ertmer; and Madison, Mitchell, and Holden Grover. There is one great-grandson, Ronin. There is one brother, Joseph Ziegler, and two sisters, Margie (Vic) Piffl and Anges “Aggie” (Ken) Endres, all of Waunakee. She is further survived by two brothers-in-law, Melvin Herbrand and Don Heyroth, both of Waunakee; One sister-in-law, Marie Lorge of Clintonville; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Tina is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald; five sisters: Mary Ziegler, Catherine “Casey” Herbrand, Rose (Art) Kalscheur, Seraphine (Donald) Statz, and Lucy Heyroth; two brothers, Hubert “Bud” (Arlene) Ziegler and Peter Ziegler; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Ziegler.

Mass of Christian Burial was on Saturday, April 2nd at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek. Fr. John “Jack” Mullarkey officiated and burial followed in the parish cemetery. Friends called on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until time of mass at the church. The Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, is assisting the family.
