Kisting wins 1,600-meter run

T-Bird girls eighth, boys 12th

The Iola-Scandinavia track team wrapped up the indoor portion of its season March 31 at a 16-team meet at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Erika Kisting won the girls’ 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:49.8 and also finished fourth in the 800-meter run, while Leighten Fischer turned third-place finishes in the 400-meter dash and long jump.

On the boys’ side, Jalen Block finished third in the high jump and Joe Makovec placed fifth in the 1,600.

The girls placed eighth, while the boys placed 12th.

The Thunderbirds will compete Tuesday, April 5, at the Shiocton Invitational before heading to Bonduel for a meet Thursday, April 7.
